Pantone, the color specialist, has unveiled Peach Fuzz as its Color of the Year for 2024. This gentle, orangey hue, represented by Pantone 13-1023, is chosen to symbolize a collective desire for community and comfort amidst uncertain times. The Pantone Color Institute describes Peach Fuzz as a shade delicately nestled between pink and orange.
“Peach Fuzz, described as a compassionate and nurturing soft peach shade, embodies heartfelt kindness and an all-embracing spirit that enriches the mind, body, and soul,” stated Laurie Pressman, the institute’s vice president. “During a time of turmoil in various aspects of our lives, the Pantone Colour of the Year 2024 reflects our yearning for nurturing, empathy, and compassion, along with our aspirations and desire for a more peaceful future,” she shared with Dezeen.
holds a dual significance. The Pantone Colour Institute, serving as the trend-forecasting division of the Pantone company, has been annually designating a color since 1999 that encapsulates the prevailing mood while also anticipating the trends of the upcoming year.
In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the program, the choice of the soothing Peach Fuzz is grounded in extensive research conducted throughout 2023.
