Louis Vuitton’s classic Capucines bag has a new avatar in the fashion house’s limited-edition Artycapucines Collection. For this line, six leading contemporary artists used the bags as their blank canvas to bring their unique vision to this popular LV product. These feature Gregor Hildebrandt’s black-and-white screen print design; Donna Huanca’s spin on hand-painted embroidery and piercing earrings; Huang Yuxing’s vibrant fantasy landscape; Vik Muniz’s playful version of the
Capucines; Paola Pivi’s gold-leaf gilding; and Zeng Fanzhi’s remarkable work of 700,000 embroidered stitches pieced together into Van Gogh’s self portrait.
